ANTICIPATION BUILDS FOR ROC MODIFIED 35 AT SELINSGROVE
Selinsgrove, PA –June 11, 2012 – The Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships School’s Out Shootout at Selinsgrove Speedway for Race of Champions Dirt Modifieds continues to grow as more sponsors have signed on to be part of the event.
The Tuesday, June 19th, race will not only carry the support of the Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships, Stadium Dirt Designs, Inc. of Bear Gap, PA, and The EconoLodge Inn and Suites of Shamokin Dam, PA,, as Shiley Fabrications, Bair Wheel Repair, A1 Advertising Specialties, and the Middleburg IGA Super Markets announced deals to be part of the event which culminates in a 35-lap feature event for the ROC Modifieds.
Gary Shiley of Shiley Fabrications in Williamstown, PA, will be providing a complete rub rail/front and rear bumper kit to the winner of the Hard Luck Award winner for the evening of modified racing while Art Bair of Bair Wheel Repair of New Ringgold, PA will supply the event winner with a $50 gift certificate.
Gary Wagner of the Middlesburg IGA Super Markets will present the winner’s five-foot trophy and Roger Folk of A1 Advertising Specialties of Middleburg, PA will present $25 to a non-qualifier selected by the luck of the draw.
In addition to these special awards and the event’s RoC purse topped by the $4000 top prize, a special bonus has been put up to the local competitors from Grandview Speedway and Big Diamond Speedway. The highest qualifying Grandview/Big Diamond-legal small block modified, based on feature starting position, will receive $200.
Additional marketing partners for this JGK Motorsports event are Reaction Graffix of New Buffalo, PA; Middleswarth Potato Chips / Jeff Goff of Middleburg, PA; BFP Specialties of Bethel, PA; and Reid’s Tannery Promotion Products / Deb Rahmer of Skippack, PA.
In addition to the powerful Race of Champions Modifieds, the roadrunners have been added to the School’s Out Shootout. The event will not be a Selinsgrove point race but will be an open Challenge race for the Selinsgrove and Big Diamond Roadrunners.
Rooms are still available at the host hotel for the Schools Out Special, the EconoLodge Inn and Suites in nearby Shamokin Dam. The EconoLodge is offering a discount room rate of $76.50 plus tax to racers. Call the local EconoLodge at (570) 743-1111 and mention Selinsgrove Speedway to reserve a room at the discount rate.
A strong field is expected as the School’s Out Special is part of a major mid-week double-header for the Race of Champions Modifieds South Region Points as they head to the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA, on Wednesday night, June 20 the evening following the big Selinsgrove race.
With two point races on tap, the top modified drivers in the Northeast are expected. Current Race of Champions South point Top 10 shows current Grandview Modified point leader, Duane Howard of Oley, PA, followed by Ryan Godown of Ringoes, NJ, Doug Manmiller of Shoemakersville, PA, Jimmy Horton of Neshanic Station, NJ, Rick Laubach of Quakertown, PA, Larry Wight of Phoenix, NY, Jimmy Phelps of Baldwinsville, NY, Ryan Watt of Boyertown, PA, Stewart Friesen of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, and Kevin Hirthler of Boyertown, PA. The next 10 well within striking distance are Brett Hearn of Sussex, NJ, Danny Johnson of Phelps, NY, Pat Ward of Genoa, NY, Billy Pauch Sr. of Frenchtown, NJ, Craig Von Dohren of Boyertown, PA, Jeff Strunk of Bechtelsville, PA, Billy Decker of Unadilla, NY, Sammy Piazza of Lawrenceville, NJ,, Wade Hendrickson of Lawrenceville, NJ, and Matt Sheppard of Waterloo, NY.
Gates will open on Tuesday night, June 19, at 5 pm with racing starting promptly at 7:30 pm; there will be no rain date for this show. Fans should remember that prior to the start of racing, special School’s Out track and pit tours will be provided to the young fans in a school bus courtesy of Stadium Dirt Designs, Inc.
